Lakers Waiting on LeBron Before Hiring Head Coach
The Lakers have yet to hire a new head coach out of hope for LeBron James. Yes, you read that correctly.
According to Sam Amick of USA Today, the Lakers are “delaying” their coaching hire until July just in case they can land a guy like LeBron by giving him some input on who should man the sidelines next season.
This is laughable for many reasons, but none more than the fact Kobe Bryant’s shell and his monstrous $30 million salary will offer an even larger wall to climb to have a prayer at competing in the brutal Western Conference.
The Lakers aren’t much different than the Cavs at this point.
Earlier this week, Tempe, Arizona police released documents that detail even more rape allegations against former NFL star Darren Sharper, who today will appear in court to face rape charges stemming from separate incidents in Los Angeles. In total, Sharper’s alleged to have drugged 11 people and raped 7 women across 4 states. It’s shocking when anyone faces charges of being a serial rapist, but in the case of Sharper, folks have expressed an added undercurrent of confusion over how a man that good looking could do something that horrible. But he’s handsome! Handsome men don’t need to rape women!

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Reveal New Logo
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Reveal New Logo
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reveal new logo on NFL Network for the first time. The helmet has a chrome face mask and a bigger logo on the side. The logo is going to take some getting used to and I can say that it does let you know who they are.
There have been different reactions from the fans and the majority was saying to leave it the same before the unveiling of the helmets and logo on Thursday night on NFL Network. Looking around all the sports fan pages like Bucs Nation on Facebook you can see many fans were not happy with the announcement that the logo was being changed.
Now that the logo has been unveiled, I can say that it is only a matter of time before the rest of the NFL follow suit. The helmets standout and really helps the fans enjoy the logo and feel the pride of the team. The Buccaneers made tweaks to the flag by making the skull and crossbones look a little more vicious.
The Buccaneers have come a long way from the days of Bucco Bruce. Yeah you remember the logo of the orange and red pirate with a feather coming out of his hat and a saber in his mouth while he was winking at you. That logo didn’t give the sense of “fear us “for the Buccaneers in the early years. Remember it took a change of logo and attitude to finally push the Buccaneers to the point of winning football games and eventually the Super Bowl.
If you ask Warren Sapp, I am almost certain that you can say that he approves of the helmet and the logo, but not enough for him to return to the football field. He stated that his left knee would not allow it. For some of us it would have been nice.
What are your comments about the helmet? Leave them below.
Peyton Manning was pressured by Seattle all night.
The Denver Broncos gave Tim Tebow the last laugh in Super Bowl XLVIII. Peyton Manning and the Broncos came out and committed a blooper on the very first play of the super bowl and never recovered. With all the crowd noise in the stadium Peyton Manning could not make all the adjustment calls at the line of scrimmage that he is so accustomed to making. He stepped to the line of scrimmage and before he could get the “Omaha” out the ball went flying by his head and into the end zone where the Seattle Seahawks scored a safety. Not only giving up the fastest score in Super Bowl history, the Broncos looked like a circus act losing the game 43-8 giving Seattle their first Super Bowl victory.
We can honestly say that the Broncos offense is far better than they were with Tim Tebow. With that being said, we see that defense wins championships and not offense as much. When Tim Tebow was the starter for the Denver Broncos the offense sputtered, but didn’t lose many football games. The defense was the best in the game and was on top of the league.
The reason for this was because Tim Tebow used up a lot of the clock when the low scoring Bronco offense was on the field. Even though the Broncos made it to the playoffs that year and lost to the New England Patriots, they had started something that would have eventually paid off in the end. Only if they would have stuck with Tebow, and built around him instead of trading him away to the New York Jets.
Tebow kept the defense on the sidelines for most of the game managing the clock and keeping opposing offenses on the sideline as well. Was it pretty? No, but it worked and the Broncos just couldn’t understand that. John Elway hated Tebow with a passion and could not see the promise his team had in the quarterback and the media had a lot to do with that. Tebow was put aside for Peyton Manning because the organization figured they would win the super bowl with a high caliber quarterback like Manning.
Well after losing the super bowl the way they did with the biggest point difference in super bowl history makes you wonder could Tim Tebow have done any worst then Manning? I can say this, the mobile quarterback is a difference maker in the NFL now, just ask Russell Wilson. The Broncos had possibly the best scrambling quarterback to ever come out of college and they replaced him with a pocket passer and don’t get me wrong here, I would have done the same thing, but I would not have gotten rid of Tim Tebow. I would have let him sit and let him learn behind Peyton Manning.
Tim Tebow has to feel relieved that the Broncos did not win the super bowl for the fact he had them on the right path even though it wasn’t glamorous he could have done better than eight points in the Super Bowl. After seeing what I saw in Super Bowl XLVIII just makes you wonder what Tim Tebow has to be saying to himself, “Hell I could have gotten more than eight points”.
MIAMI — It’s not common for Chris Bosh to put up a big number of shots.
Maybe the Miami Heat should make it happen more often.
Bosh made his final eight shots on the way to a 31-point night, LeBron James added 27 points and 13 rebounds and the Heat never trailed in a 109-102 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday.
Bosh was 15 for 22 from the field, 9 for 10 after halftime and 5 for 5 in the final quarter, when the Lakers made runs but never got the lead.
“We know what he’s capable of doing,” James said. “When he’s got his midrange working like that he’s pretty dangerous. And that rim looked mighty big for him tonight.”

The Seattle Seahawks Are On Their Way
Seattle Seahawks Russell Wilson
The Seattle Seahawks and their 12th man was a little to much for the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers jumped ahead early on the scrambling abilities of Colin Kaepernick. Seattle shut down Frank Gore and he just could not get it going. At one point in the game he had 14 carries for 11 yards. Anquan Boldin did his thing along with Michael Crabtree.
Early in the game the Seahawks just could not stop Kaepernick from running all over the place. Kaepernick rushed for 130 yards and only threw for 153 yards. In a game like this you have to do more than that. With the receiving core the 49ers have they should have had more yards threw the air than that. Four running backs touched the ball and neither one had over 20 yards because the quarterback was doing their job.
When it mattered Seattle adjusted and finally put a QB spy on Kaepernick and forced him to use his arm in which he failed miserably. He did make some key throws, but in crunch time the pressure was to high for the second year starter. He may need to work on that in the off season.
Russell Wilson has the same scrambling ability as Kaepernick but he chose to throw the ball instead. That is the sign of a maturing young quarterback and his future is bright.
Marshawn Lynch (Beast Mode) was a hand full for the 49ers. Beast Mode had 109 yards rushing on 22 carries and 1 touchdown.
The balanced attack of the Seahawks will definitely be a problem for the Denver Broncos along with the threat of Wilson scrambling to extend plays. Will this be Seattle’s year to finally win it all or will it be Denver’s. It’s going to be a great game.
Leave a comment below on who you think will win it all.
Denver Broncos Super Bowl Bound/ Peyton Manning
The Denver Broncos came out and proved to everyone that they are destined to make it to the Super Bowl. Most thought that the road would have been much harder going against the New England Patriots. Peyton Manning proved that to be wrong.
The Patriots came out flat in the first half only scoring 3 points. Tom Brady if not anything showed us why he needs wide receivers as his receiving corp just did not show up for the game. LeGarrett Blount disappeared and was not a factor at all. Aquib Talib went out with an injury as he has done many times in his career when it comes to the big game. Once this happened Demaryius Thomas had a field day catching the ball in his absence.
The Patriots made a great effort in the second half by scoring a couple of touchdowns, but going for the first down on 4th down in the first half came back to kick them in the butt as it forced them to go for a failed two point conversion in the fourth quarter. That pretty much sealed the game for the Patriots and their Super Bowl hopes for the season all but disappered.
The Broncos took away the running game of the Patriots which was the key to beat the Patriots. By not allowing them to run the ball, The Broncos made the Patriots throw the ball more than they needed too, and that was the biggest key in the Broncos winning the game.
Peyton Manning is going to the Super Bowl for the third time to try and make up for the Super Bowl loss to the New Orleans Saints when he was still with the Indianapolis Colts in 2011. Champ Bailey will be making his first Super Bowl appearance in his career and it will be great for him to retire with a Super Bowl victory.
Will Peyton finally catch up with his younger brother Eli Manning and get his second Super Bowl ring. We will find out in two weeks.

When you think of quarterback legends in the NFL, you will have to think of Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. These two quarterbacks are destined to be in the Hall of Fame on first time ballots. Over the years there has been great battles between these two with the edge going slightly to Tom Brady. These two have great respect for each other as their time in the NFL is close to being over. The light is shining at the end of the tunnel boys. Well they will have another great battle against each other this weekend in the AFC Title game. Who has the advantage to get their team to the Super Bowl? There are going to be points made about the advantages and the weaknesses and then it’s up to you to decide.
Denver Broncos Peyton Manning
When you look at Denver you know that the driving force is the offense behind Manning. Outside of Peyton Manning throwing for 55 touchdowns and 5477 passing yards and even 1 rushing touchdown….You have Demaryius Thomas hauling in 92 receptions for 1430 yards receiving and Eric Decker 87 receptions and 1288. Knowshon Moreno barely rushed over a thousand yards (1038). It’s a given that the Broncos will come out and pass the ball around more then they will run the ball. The strong point of the Broncos is there passing game and the Patriots have a corner in Aqib Talib (coming into his own as a cornerback) will be able to slow down whichever receiver he has to cover will not be enough to slow down the passing game. He will hear a lot of Omaha…Omaha…Omaha!
The Broncos defense have been suspect this year and injuries and inexperience has been the culprit. The Broncos finished the season ranked 19th overall. They were ranked 7th against the run, but the teams they normally face do not run the ball well. Take how San Diego ran on them earlier in the season shows that when they face a real running game they will struggle to shut it down. Denver was 27th against the pass allowing 254 passing yards per game. This will be a big problem for them this weekend.
New England Patriots
New England Patriots Tom Brady
Tom Brady as great as he is does not have the receiver core he had a year ago. Even though the passing game did not suffer that much it still isn’t the same. Tom Brady threw for 4343 passing yards this year and 25 touchdowns. With numbers like this he seemed to be just a little above average touchdown wise. This was not one of his best years. His leading receiver was Edelman with 1056 receiving yards and 105 receptions and 6 touchdowns. Stevan Ridley and LeGarrette Blount are a tag team duo. Ridley finished the season with 773 rushing yards and Legarrette with 772 rushing yards. They both had 7 rushing touchdowns. The Patriots have found a strong running game all of a sudden with Blount now taking the leading role. Something the Broncos are going to have to pay attention to which will open the passing game for Brady to really do his thing with the receivers he has. Running the ball will be key to the Patriots success for the reason it slows the game down and keeps Manning on the sideline watching (Hint: San Diego Chargers). One would think that the Patriots were saving Blount just for the playoffs so he will not be worn out. He will be key here in this game. Let’s just hope he shows up.
The Patriots Defense will have its hands full with the almighty Peyton Manning. New England’s defense is ranked 26th overall and that will be a problem. The Patriots are 18th in pass defense which is average. If the Broncos can keep their offense on the field this would give them a great advantage. The Patriots are ranked 30th against the run. Wow that is bad, but the Broncos are also bad when it comes to running the ball so the two cancel each other out. The Patriots are going to struggle if the offense does not use ball control to keep Peyton Manning on the sideline.
Bill Belichick is a brilliant coach. He has always been able to control Peyton Manning and he will definitely take his newly found running game in Blount and Ridley backing him up to control the clock and keep Manning on the sideline. Even though John Fox knows his team will have to stop the run, he will not be able to because he will not be able to stack the box. If the Broncos were to do that Tom Brady will have a field day passing the ball. The Broncos will have to play honest and wait for mistakes in which Brady doesn’t make many of. All in all this will be a great game. Now you decide and comment to let me know how you feel about my pick and why.
